Hazel Grove Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Hazel Grove Golf Club is a beautiful well-drained parkland course with numerous water hazards, tree-lined fairways and true USGA specification greens provides an enjoyable test of golf all year round. I play here at least once a year usually around March as this course is one of very few that still plays summer Tees and Greens in winter and they are both always in great condition, another course with great Par 3s and Par 5s to pick a favourite hole on here is difficult as there are so many but I suppose it has to be the 17th a Par 4 for two reasons one is it needs an accurate tee shot as theres trees both sides and a water hazard reachable off the tee,the second shot is over a dipping valley into a green that's raised and rewards you well if hit,the second reason is I never do well on this hole so hitting the green in two brings great delight to me.A definite course to play all year round but especially excellent for winter golf.

  1. Paul, great review, couldn't agree more with everything you say especially the 17th, getting on for two is a delight...its the 3 putts that kill it for me!!!!

I personally like the 8th which needs a good drive and then a relaxed 100yd shot over the lake to the green.

Greens are still great and the course is getting a few changes over the winter with the 13th being extended to a par 4.

Have you seen the Alister Mackenzie statue yet, dont forget your camera when you next go to the course.

Good golfing and if you haven't reviewed it yet, have a day out at Miraflores GC on the Costa del Sol its a similar course to HGGC.
