Northenden Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Northenden Golf Club in July 2005 voted by a large majority to rebuild all 18 greens to the United States Golf Association (USGA) specification. The first Competition using the New Greens was in June 2006 with 140 very excited Players taking part. Many greens are larger than previously, giving more options for pin placement. New bunkers, particularly on the shorter par fours, means more care will be required with shot and club selection. Finally, and most importantly, the wonderful new drainage system beneath the greens and fairways means that we will be the only local club able to play on proper greens, in good condition, throughout the year. When I played here it was after the greens had been altered and yes they were fantastic well lets put it this way I believe Nick Faldo,Sandy Lyle & Greg Norman are just a few of the names who have played here in the Pro-am so that says it all but no truthfully from an amateurs point of view this course is fantastic and one I intend going back to play again asap.

North Wales Clubhouse,Picture & Scorecard

North Wales Golf Course is situated on the west coast of North Wales in the sunny seaside town of Llandudno with excellent views over the Conwy estuary to Anglesey and the Snowdonia Mountain range. It is a true links course of Championship standard, having previously hosted the Welsh Team Championships. We are sure you will find the course invigorating and challenging offering an enjoyable experience for all levels of player.A great links course with some fantastic Par 3's this is another course on Anglesey Ive played more than once and you know what they say if you keep going back to a course it must be worth it and it is,one of the best links courses I've played with good Par 5's,make sure you play it on your Anglesey holiday.

North Manchester Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

North Manchester Golf Club is a visiting golfers’ delight, noted for its undulating nature, with accommodating greens and wide fairways offering golfers a good walk and a challenge at every turn. This 6443 yards par 71 for men and 5545 yards par 73 for ladies; drains well and so is open for play more often than not.Had one of my better rounds of golf here many years ago I have been back since but couldn't get the golf going as well, the thing I remember most about here was the testing drives and how true the greens were. Its not far off the M60 neither so easy access. If your a man who likes putting visit here the greens are brilliant.

New Mills Pictures & Scorecard

New Mills Golf Club is a members club located high in the foothills of the Pennines, near the borders of Derbyshire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester. Its position on the edge of the Peak District National Park makes it ideal for golfers visiting the area. The location is renowned for its natural beauty and affords panoramic views of the Cheshire Plain and beyond to the Welsh Mountains in the west. Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District, provides a dramatic backdrop to the course in the east.Only played here once and really had a good time there are some great novel holes especially the 4th a Par 3 which is 82yds off yellows Yes!!! 82yds and is called "Jim Riddick" I presume he was a short awkward man the same as this hole.Great views and a great course for all handicappers.

Nefyn Pictures & Course Layout

Nefyn Golf Club the Old Course consists of Holes 1-10 (Old) followed by Holes 11-18 (Old) on the world famous 'Point'. It opens with a series of 4 holes running parallel with and, a times, very close to the rugged coastline, before moving inland with some testing par 4s and a challenging par 3. It then moves to The 'Point'- eight holes on a narrow peninsula with fairways and tees perched above secluded coves and tiny inlets on one side and sandy beaches on the other.
Nefyn Golf Club the New Course consists of Holes 1-10 (Old) followed by Holes 11-18 (New). These eight holes follow the natural contours of the headland and coastal inlet, confronting the golfer with some testing par 4s, particularly the 15th, a long, sweeping right to left dog-leg with strategically placed bunkers. All the holes enjoy the spectacular backdrop of the Snowdonia range. On the way home, the 18th hole offers golfers a stunning panoramic view of the entire golf course. When I played here I played the new course which was stunning with amazing views, fantastic greens and fairways. On the way round I got a few glimpse's at the old course peninsula and in a word I need to play it.

Mottram Hall Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Mottram Hall Golf Club is a 7000 yard championship course. Magnificent parkland fairways dotted with oak and beech trees. Tricky, well-guarded greens. This is golf at its best.Played here a couple of times over the years and the difference in my opinion from the front 9 to the back is massive, the front 9 is rather flat and easy on the legs where as the back 9 is hilly, has great features, tricky and a true joy to play in all fairness it wasn't the best time of year when I played it but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Mere Clubhouse,Pictures,Entrance & Scorecard

Mere Golf Club is a James Braid designed golf course at Mere is as famous for its beauty as it is for the challenges it presents. The 6,817-yard, par-71 course was created out of 150 acres of Cheshire parkland in 1934.The last four holes in particular are notorious for wrecking previously respectable score cards. Sky Sports commentator Steve Beddoes has described Mere as ‘The Wentworth of the North’. This course is an absolute must if you live or are in the North West situated just off the M6 at junction 19 its easy to get to.I played two rounds in one day here because I didn't think I had punished myself enough with just one round, the course is fantastic with each hole unique and as said the last four holes can do you some damage,I had a brilliant day here playing golf on an excellent course this needs to be visited even if you only hit some balls on the driving range which by the way has no grass its a lake you hit balls out into fantastic!!!

Meltham Pictures,Course Layout & Scorecard

Meltham Golf Clubs experience is a blend of challenging heath/parkland 18 hole course with tree lined fairways, babbling brooks and lake features and tricky to read greens, all set against the splendour of the Pennine hills and can be enjoyed by all levels of golfer.Only got to play here in match play format but very enjoyable and good variety. The greens are probably some of the trickiest to read I've ever played in England, its definitely a members course to know but I prefer a good challenge, the course to me gets better the further into the round you go and would safely say it has one of the best back 9's I've ever played.

Marple Clubhouse,Pictures,Course Layout & Scorecard

Marple Golf Club is a compact but pleasantly challenging 18 hole course with lengths of 5554 off White tee's, 5373 off Yellow tee's and 5228 off Red tee's. In spite of that, it is still a very enjoyable round of golf and offers a whole host of challenges that must be successfully negotiated if a good score is to be recorded. It is an excellent test of your iron play and a fine example of how a course doesn't have to be long to be testing.I like playing here as its got a few of those Par 4s you think you can reach and have a good lash at,your iron play definitely needs to be good on here as stated as there are a few holes that position suits better than length, another course that I would also say is quite easy on the legs and even though its short to your lower handicappers its great fun to play.

Marbella Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Marbella Golf Club is a 6.000 metre long 18-hole links course with a par of 72, has been imaginatively designed to respect the natural terrain and make the most of the spectacular Mediterranean backdrop. Each hole is uniquely challenging, although the 9th hole in particular, featuring several lakes and bunkers, is guaranteed to put even the most skillful golfer to the test.A long time ago when I played here and seem to remember its one of the tougher courses to master on the Costa del Sol,the 3rd hole a Par 3 over a pond is a cracking hole its one of those holes where you have to commit to the shot or your reloading. It has beautiful views, greens and fairways and well looked after bunkers if you know what I mean.

Maesdu Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Maesdu Golf Clubs 18 holes are gently undulating. While playing there are captivating panoramic views of the curving Conwy Bay, the Great Orme and in the distance the Snowdonia mountains, Isle of Anglesey and Puffin Island. The championship course, over 6500 yards, is varied and interesting. A good score is achieved with careful putting on the undulating greens.Well my yearly visit to Anglesey  brought me up to Maesdu a course that can ruin a mans moral or so I had been told.Well it ruined mine we had fairly good weather to so no excuse there but no seriously this course is awesome because it gets you and really doesn't let go its not easy that's for sure but what a fantastic test of golf the Par 3s on here are excellent, another one to be added to your week away in Anglesey.

Los Olivos Mijas Pictures & Course Layout

Los Olivos Mijas Golf Club was designed by Robert Trent Senior, the main feature which distinguishes this course from The Lakes is the abundance of trees - hence the name - and its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended. Although both are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two courses: if Los Lagos are based on hazards of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens.Yes like I said before I have played Los Lagos as well as here both brilliant courses with excellent greens and fairways, some great water features an all round pleasure to play no matter what your handicap and the clubhouse bar and restaurant provide excellent food and facilities (especially the prawn cocktail and onion soup).

Los Noranjos Clubhouse,Pictures,Course Layout & Scorecard

Los Naranjos Golf Club is a typical Robert Trent Jones design with generous fairways and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. The greens, recently rebuilt with Penn A4-Grass, are spacious and slightly undulated. The tees are long and have four markers: red, yellow, white and black with course lengths starting from 5131 metres and reaching 6532 metres at its longest.Los Naranjos was the first course I ever played on the Costa del Sol and what an introduction the picture to the left is going back up the 18th to what can only be described as a magnificent clubhouse, this is a course for all handicappers but is just a great first taste of golf in Costa del Sol,greens and fairways superb.Great facilities make sure you use them.

Royal Lytham St Annes Clubhouse,Pictures,Course Layout & Scorecard

Royal Lytham St Annes Golf Club is not a conventionally beautiful golf course, surrounded as it is by suburban housing and flanked by a railway line, but it has a charm all of its own. It is a Links Course that is a long way from the sea yet close enough for the sea breeze to have an effect on one's game and was aptly described by Bernard Darwin, the leading golf writer of the thirties, as 'a beast of a Course, but a just beast'. He went on to say that 'no one could fail to be impressed by its difficulties, which sets a golfer just about as ruthless as an examination as any Course of my acquaintance'.What a course this is, the picture above is the clubhouse on the right of the picture, and the dormy house on the left.I played here two days on the bounce with an overnight stay in the dormy house the course is tremendous with over 200 bunkers unbelievable greens and fairways, the clubhouse is full of great nostalgia and you are treated like royalty right down to your own luxury room in the dormy house (there is a picture below with the view from my dormy room) fantastic two day break, yes before you ask its tough but thoroughly enjoyable and well worth a visit.

Los Lagos Mijas Pictures & Scorecard

Los Lagos Mijas Golf Club is 6,367 metres, this course is the longer of the two which comprise of Mijas Golf. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, Los Lagos is a ground course with wide fairways and a few forest trees obstacles, but is defended by many bunkers and nine lakes, from which the course gets its name and which easily trap the ball. It is a course with soft movement and large greens. It could be said that the American designer wanted to present a course especially for amateurs, but at the same time, it can present a challenge for the best players.Ive been lucky enough to play here and on Los Olivios good course for amatuers and the travelling golfer great vast greens in tip top condition. The clubhouse bar and restaurant serve great food ,every time I go I have to have the prawn cocktail or the onion soup you will see why when you get either.Fantastic place to play golf on the Costa-del-Sol.

La Quinta Pictures,Course Layout & Scorecards

La Quinta Golf Club has three 9 hole courses integrated into the natural surroundings of the area, from which one can view the Mediterranean sea and the mountains that encircle the Marbella Golf Valley. The course is regarded as one of the best in the area as it hosts The Benahavis Senior Masters every October, a regular European Seniors PGA Tour Event. As stated above there are three 9 hole courses here A,B & C all three are unique and a pleasure to play there is only two open at one time so they can work on the other hence its always in top condition or if very busy three 9 hole courses helps cater for everybody. The picture to the left is the 9th hole on course B a great finishing hole this course to me is another ideal course for all handicappers and has yet again spectacular views and scenery a must if visiting the Costa for the first time.

La Cala Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecards

La Cala Golf Club Resort boasts three 18-hole championship courses designed by the renowned Cabell Robinson, a star pupil of the legendary Robert Trent Jones. It also has a top quality six-hole par 3 layout that is attached to the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain. With a five-star hotel and properties to rent, the visiting player or group need never leave the resort to enjoy a varied and thoroughly enjoyable golfing experience. The three courses are called Campo America,Campo Asia & Campo Europa I've only played the one and that was La Cala North now known as Campo America and La Cala South is now known as Campo Asia.Campo America is a course that has a few Par 5s that are reachable in two and some picturesque Par 3s I'm told its a little easier than the Asia course most holes are hilly and require quite a bit of carry I would say this would probably suit your slightly lower handicappers better but that's not to say a higher handicapper wouldn't enjoy it as its a great testing course.

Houldsworth Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Houldsworth Golf Club is an 18 hole course it  is  flat parkland with interesting challenging holes to suit all level of golfers. The club was formed in 1910 and the course was redesigned by Dave Thomas in 1993 to include a number of challenging water features including our hardest hole, a 535 yd par 5 with an 'island green'.A course thats got a bit of everything and as you can see a very modern clubhouse, this is another course easy on the legs with great features only had the pleasure of playing here a couple of times but a thoroughly enjoyable place to play.

Hollins Hall Pictures,Pro Shop & Scorecard

Hollins Hall Golf Course is an 18 hole championship golf course in Bradford, Hollins Hall, a Marriott Hotel & Country Club is the rural gateway to traditional Yorkshire hospitality. Located in 200 acres of grounds, it is a short drive to Leeds and Bradford city centres. Only played here a handful of times and the reason for the first visit it was winter time and they guarantee summer tees and greens all year round, they were not lying and I couldn't believe how good they were. This course has a lot of really good thinking holes and is a pleasure to play summer or winter.

Holyhead Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Holyhead Golf Club is located on the stunningly beautiful Isle of Anglesey,Holyhead Golf Club offers some of the best golf to be had in Wales.Enjoying fantastic views towards the mountains of Snowdonia and situated only 1 mile from the port of Holyhead, gateway to Ireland, the course is a challenging heathland 18 hole championship course with some of the best greens to be found anywhere. Now this course tried my patience its one of those courses that seems to look quiet easy but for some reason keeps jumping up and biting you,but yet again another Anglesey course with fantastic greens and views.( Anybody who can forward a clubhouse photo I would be very grateful)

Henllys Hall Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Henllys Hall Golf Club is an 18 hole par 71 course set in mature parkland, within the grounds of the historic Henllys Hall. The course is now 10 years old and is maturing well. The course makes superb use of the natural features, such as streams and ponds, and is testing for every level of player.Another Anglesey golf course I've played several times, this now has a very new clubhouse a good course I would say for all golfers some brilliant Par 5's and a 17th Par 3 227yds off whites that drives me insane I still haven't managed to hit the green and I've been going a good few years now.

Heaton Park Pictures & Scorecard

Heaton Park Golf Club course is a parkland course, boasting spectacular views over the Pennines and surrounding countryside and offers several imposing tee shots. Three lakes in the park, play a prominent part in every round, especially on the 193 yard 11th hole. Being a long Par 3 and signature hole to the course. This course I played a lot when i first started out it has everything for the budding new golfer to experience and there are some great signature holes, this course stays prominent in my mind as it currently holds my worst round of golf in my golfing history, its a good test and has plenty of hills its also easy access from M60 motorway.I would say a course to be played especially if your just starting out.

Hazel Grove Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Hazel Grove Golf Club is a beautiful well-drained parkland course with numerous water hazards, tree-lined fairways and true USGA specification greens provides an enjoyable test of golf all year round. I play here at least once a year usually around March as this course is one of very few that still plays summer Tees and Greens in winter and they are both always in great condition, another course with great Par 3s and Par 5s to pick a favourite hole on here is difficult as there are so many but I suppose it has to be the 17th a Par 4 for two reasons one is it needs an accurate tee shot as theres trees both sides and a water hazard reachable off the tee,the second shot is over a dipping valley into a green that's raised and rewards you well if hit,the second reason is I never do well on this hole so hitting the green in two brings great delight to me.A definite course to play all year round but especially excellent for winter golf.

Fairfield Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Fairfield Golf Club has been redeveloped at a cost of £1.8m under the watchful eye of Andrew Murray. Andrew has transformed the respected Par 67 course into a truly interesting and memorable experience. It now boasts a Par 70 course of 6058 yards with a SSS of 69. The course is a test for golfers of all levels and offers some great signature holes which are located around a reservoir setting. Luckily I don't live to far away from here, played here a lot in my early years trying to master the mighty game, it is great playing round the reservoirs as we all love the water but for me the 18th Par 3 was my favourite.

Disley Pictures & Scorecard

Disley Golf Club is nestled on the border of Cheshire and Derbyshire, Disley Golf Club is a welcoming and challenging 18 hole golf course for golfers of all abilities. With panoramic views across the Cheshire Plains and the Peak District each hole offers golfers a combination of beauty and challenges to test your golfing skills. Was most unfortunate that the only time I got to play here the weather wasn't to kind but it didn't dampen my enjoyment, this is one of those courses that you seem to want to get to the next hole to see what its like even before you've finished the hole your on,I thought the greens were brilliant and don't forget it was raining when I played.I will definitely be going back here one day fingers crossed in better weather conditions.

Didsbury Clubhouse,Pictures & Scorecard

Didsbury Golf Club is one of the most highly regarded golf courses in the country. It is located on the banks of the River Mersey in south Manchester and provides a considerable challenge for golfers of all standards. When I played here I had heard many really good reports and was a little scared that I was going to be extremely disappointed, but I wasn't at all if anything I think the reports Id heard had played it down fantastic course and now I know why its regarded as one of the best in the country, you need to play it and then you will see what I mean. This is a total must play course if ever in the North West of England.
